Bio: July 7, 2006 Posted: 7-13-2006Fishel, Julia A. 89, of Hart, died Friday, July 7, 2006. She was born Nov. 25, 1916 in Fennville, Mich. to Earl and Hallie (Spellman) Lambrix. Julia had met her future husband George Fishel at the Sta-Pocket in Hart and was married at the First Baptist Church in Hart on April 28, 1946. Mrs. Fishel was a homemaker and a mother, but also taught school in many one room school houses in Oceana County. For over 20 years, she was employed at the Gambles Store in Hart. She also assisted the Oceana County Health Nurse with immunizations. She was a lifetime member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans. Her children recall her cooking, baking and seamstress skills in providing for her family's needs. She was also known for her organizational skills and for her contribution to the war effort, working on coils for submarines and electronics. She was an avid viewer of the Lawrence Welk Show each week. Mrs. Fishel is survived by their children, George (Janet) Fishel of East Tawas, Mich., Alice (Fred) Thompson of Shelby, Nancy (Robert) Enders of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., John (Mary Kraft) Fishel of Hart and Daniel (Laura) Fishel of the Hardy Dam area; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Alice Chapman of Hart. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on May 22, 2002 and her brother, Lynn Lambrix. The funeral service for Mrs. Fishel was scheduled for Tuesday, July 11, at 1 p.m. at the Tate-King Funeral Home, with Rev. C. William Martin officiating. Interment in Mears Cemetery.
