  [S927] Obituary. Delores "Dee" Fonder (Died February 12, 2010) Mass of Christian Burial for Delores “Dee” B. Fonder, 72, of Ipswich, is 10:30 Tuesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ipswich. Burial follows in the church cemetery. Liturgical Wake Service is 6:00 pm Monday at Holy Cross. Visitation is 1-4:00 Monday at Gramm Funeral Home in Ipswich and one hour prior to both services at the church. Delores “Dee” B. Fonder was born November 15, 1937 to August and Bertha (Aman) Guthmiller in Eureka, SD. Dee was raised on a farm near Hillsview,SD. She married Pat Fonder on November 17, 1955 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ipswich, SD. They lived and farmed south east of Ipswich for 51 years. Pat passed away August 12, 2006. Dee devoted her life to raising her 10 children. Dee enjoyed gardening, needlework, sewing and collecting Beanie Babies. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her grandkids and watching them play. Grandma particularly enjoyed playing games with her grandkids and was pegged the “Checker’s Champion”. Dee passed away peacefully on Friday February 12, 2010 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. Dee is survived by 9 children, son, Stuart Fonder of Huron; daughter, Julie(Rich) Poirier of Rapid City; daughter, Sandy (Ray) Grismer of Renner; son, Jim Fonder (girlfriend Carol Ann) of Roscoe; daughter, Susie (Dan) Meyer of Brandon; daughter, Melissa (Jim) Pond of Watertown ; daughter, Patricia (Craig) Comstock of Butlerville, IN; son Clint (Christa) Fonder of Plymouth, MN; son, Paul (Jill) Fonder of Aberdeen; 28 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 siblings; Gladys (Emil) Kirschenmann of TX; Gertie (Elmer) Pfeifle of SD; Mabel (Leroy) Davis of SD; Rhienhold (Lorraine) of MN; Milbert (Alice) of MN; Melvin (Judy) of MN; Herbert (Judy) of MN; Edwin (Charlotte)of MN; Darlene (Stan) Biel of WY and Linda (Ray) Brook of France; And many nieces and nephews. Dee was preceeded in death by her parents; husband; 1 son, Steven Fonder; two grandsons, Clinton John Fonder,Jr. and Kaleb Patrick Fonder; one granddaughter, Claire Elizabeth Fonder; and five siblings, Marvin (Otillia); Eugene (Ann); Ruben (Lorraine); August( Alicia); and Betty (Les) Schnabel.
