Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Albert Leary officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish vigil begins at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home and from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Rose was born March 8, 1910, in the Crown Butte area, the daughter of Rafiel Zander and Anna Mary (Gratz). She was raised and educated in the Crown Butte area. She married John G. Stein in St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Crown Butte on Nov. 5, 1929. John died April 8, 1966. Her hobbies included sewing, puzzles and crocheting. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Clara Miller, Mandan, and Jeanette and Ruben Straub, Bismarck; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jim Stein, San Diego, and Richard and Helen Stein, Mandan; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one sister, Clementine Fleck, one brother and sister-in-law, Kasper and Caroline Zander, one sister-in-law, Betty Stein Bohl, and one brother-in-law, Emil Zander, all of Mandan. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Norleen; two sons, Alphonse Stein, Phoenix, and Ervin Stein, Mandan; one sister, Johanna Hoffman; and one brother, George R. Zander.
