Norman L. Kendall
Norman L. "Stormin' Norman" Kendall, 65, of Parkersburg passed away June 9, 2005, at his residence.
He was born July 19, 1939, in Parkersburg, the son of the late Clyde E. and Helen P. Bowersock Kendall. Norman also lived with his grandparents, the late Herbert and Glenna Bowersock.
Norman was a Parkersburg High School graduate, having played with the Big Red Football Team. He was retired from Corning Glass Works after 36 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Flint Glass Workers' Union and a member of the Corning Glass/Schott Retiree Club. He was an avid Mountaineer fan, loved boating and enjoyed buying and selling cars. Norman loved to sit on his front porch and visit with all his neighbors and friends. He especially enjoyed walking Sparky, his beloved dog, in Quincy Park.
Surviving is his wife, Elladean "Deanie" Vance Kendall, who he married in 1980; one son and his wife, Rocky L. and Peggy Kendall of Parkersburg; one daughter and her husband, Tracy and Andy Kenney of Sabina, Ohio; three grandsons, Remington and Josh Kendall, both of Parkersburg, and Nick Null, stationed in Iraq and his wife, Tanya, of Parkersburg; one granddaughter, Ashley Saunders and her husband, Adam, of Reedsville, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Null, Sydney and Hayley Saunders; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Sandy and Mike Allman of Richmond, Ky., Terry and Bob Guice of Charleston, S.C., and Becky and Rick Hicks of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one stepson, Rick VanFossen of Bradenton, Fla.; 11 step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green Street, Parkersburg, with Dr. Kurt Busick and Michael Allman officiating. Entombment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens and Mausoleum.
