- [S927] Obituary.
Judy Marie Kochert
Oct. 2, 1970-Jan 14. 2008
Judy Marie Kochert is a saint in the eyes of God, her doctor said it was a miracle she was born on October 2, 1970.
Judy was always pure of heart and soul and believed in doing the will of God very much like her mother, Olga. Now she is with her beloved father and mother in heaven with peace and joy.
She loved to pray the most Holy Rosary everyday, study her Catholic beliefs, and have spiritual prayers with blessed Mary the mother of God and her son Jesus Christ. She lived the sanctity of life with all the saints in heaven, it was her life on earth and now in heaven with them.
JUDY was a loving teacher, protector and friend through elementary, high school and college to her younger sister, Anne. Judy had a childlike heart that lit up when talking about their childhood memories. Judy and Anne were always with us at all times because they were always a joy to be with and made our lives and marriage complete.
Judy and Anne lived their religious beliefs. I know I could have given Judy more of my time and attention to help her because she was a delicate, but strong soul of GOD in need of caring love. All the articles we wrote reminding people of their religious beliefs, could not have been possible without her caring and professional help. I know because of her good and blessed life as an example, I need to improve my spiritual life to honor her in the name of our Lord God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and Mary the mother of God.
Judy and Olga helped me paint a 30ft educational, patriotic and historical mural at the Lyford High School cafeteria. Judy was the valedictorian (98.34 average) graduate from Lyford High School and in 1989 NHS President, Summa cum laude, B.I.S., M.A. University of Texas Pan American graduate with a major in education and minor degree in English and Art.
Judy was baptized at St. Anthony's, cherished her first communion and was confirmed at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Raymondville. A rosary will be prayed at Duddlesten's funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral service will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Friday with Father Richard MacDonald officiating (a lifetime friend of our family).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Judy Kochert memorial scholarship fund at Lyford High School, C/O Lyford CISD, P.O. Box 220, Lyford, TX. 78569.
Judy's parents are Olga and Elmer Kochert, Jr. Judy's dad was the art teacher at Lyford for 34 years and her mother was a former elementary teacher. Her sister is Anne, brother-in-law Scott, and nephew Christian Rundle. Godparents are Edna and Arnold Longoria.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Kochert, Scott Rundle, Buddy Madrigal, James Kochart, Albert Troppy, Mark Garza and David Aguirre. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Madrigal, Corky Madrigal and Robert Kochert, other family members are Ginger Pawlak, Linda Jochec, Edna Longoria, Marianne Madrigal, Gilda Adams, Norma Carrington, Betty Kochert, Dorothy Kochert, Irean Kochert and Marion Eastwood also the Poor Clares in Alamo.
