Donald E. 'Red' Pommerening: Menasha ? Donald E. Pommerening, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2008 at Oakridge Gardens, Town of Menasha. He was born on December 9, 1917 in Oshkosh, son of the late William "Charlie" and Florence (Spiegel) Pommerening. Don served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. Don was united in marriage to Dorothy Hett on July 23, 1943 in Menasha. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Menasha as a Rural Route Carrier. He liked to watch the Packer and Badger games and as of lately started enjoying NASCAR. Don loved to watch his children and grandchildren in their activities whenever he was able to. Don's family celebrates his passing knowing that he is in his heavenly home and he will be missed by his wife, Dorothy; six children: Bruce, Simi Valley, CA, Randy, Oshkosh, Gary (Ruth), Neenah, Jeff (Lu), Menasha, Donna (Dan), Neenah, Kurt, Simi Valley, CA; eight grandchildren: Kentucky, Amy, Kate, Traci, Ryan, Elizabeth, Amanda, Christopher; and special friends: Sandy Pommerening and Dan Rohe. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Kieckhafer.
