Karolina at the age of 5 with her parents and siblings; Johann, Barbara, Carl, Margaretha and Jacob, immigrated to America via the port of Hamburg, Germany aboard the SS "Herder", and arrived at the Port of New York, New York on the 12th of October 1880. Karolina married George BENDER in 1892 in Hanson County, South Dakota. The couple was blessed with 6 children.
