Betty was born October 31, 1922 in Bellaire, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jess and Besse Burkhart Dunaway. She was retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company, having worked in Bellaire and Steubenville, OH. She was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America and a Christian by faith. Preceding her in death was a brother, William J. Dunaway. Surviving is her maternal Aunt, Mary E. Burkhart, with whom she made her home in Shadyside, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great-nieces and nephews and many cousins. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2-4p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, OH, where funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Monday with the Rev. Randy Weaver officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery Bellaire, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the United States Olympic Committee.
