Pauline Helen Gustin, 85, 201 First Ave. N.E., Mandan, died May 13, 2001, at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan. Burial will be in St. Anthony Church Cemetery, St. Anthony. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Catholic Daughters rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m., a parish vigil will be held at 7 p.m. and a St. Anthony Christian Mothers rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Pauline (Renner) Gustin was born Nov. 13, 1915, on a farm west of St. Anthony, the seventh child of Joseph and Margaret (Forester) Renner. She attended a rural school and St. Anthony Catholic School through the eighth grade. Pauline was married to Adam Gustin Oct. 10, 1938, in St. Anthony with the Rev. Andrew Kolbeck as celebrant. Pauline and Adam farmed on the Renner homestead until 1945 when they bought a farm north of St. Anthony, where they lived until Adam passed away May 2, 1976. Pauline moved to an apartment in Mandan and joined St. Joseph Church. Pauline was an active member of the St. Anthony parish, working at the fairs, Christian Mothers and Verein functions. They were the Knights of Columbus Family of the Year in 1970. In Mandan she was a member of the Catholic Daughters. Pauline was a gentle, loving mother, and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, David and RoseMary, McLean, Va., Allan and Peggy and Dennis and Sherry, all of St. Anthony; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Paul Smith, Omaha, Neb., Carol and Harvey Wehri, Hebron, and Pat and Jim Boehm, Crown Butte; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Gustin, Bismarck; two brothers, Tony, Bismarck and Albert, Denver, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam; her parents; four brothers; one sister; three grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law.
