  [S927] Obituary. Adeline M. Schmaltz Photo1 Adeline M. Schmaltz, 90, Dickinson died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Adeline’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary led by Marian Ringwall and vigil with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding at 7 p.m. Adeline M. Zander was born October 15, 1918 at Dickinson the daughter of Robert and Ida (Jauss) Zander. She was raised and educated in the Dickinson area. Adeline married Nick Schmaltz on November 12, 1937 in Dickinson. Together they lived, farmed and raised their family south east of Dickinson. Nick died on September 1, 2003 and Adeline remained on the farm until moving to Dickinson in June of 2007. While in Dickinson she lived at the Evergreen for a period of time prior to moving to St. Benedict’s Health Center. Adeline enjoyed baking, listening to old time music, playing bingo and cards, and doing embroidery. Adeline is survived by nine children, Laverne Kessel, Dayton, Wash., Donna (Arnie) Betlaf, Dickinson, Sharon (Bob) Roshau, Dickinson, Linda (Joe) Wanner, Gladstone, Pat (Thurman) Wolf, Dickinson, Bertie (Kurt) Gustafson, Dickinson, Nick, Jr. (Carol) Schmaltz, Dickinson, Bernie (Mike) Wolf, Dickinson and Charlene (EllDean) Maychrzak, Scranton; three sisters, Delores Moore, Dickinson, Gladys (Pete) Kolling, Dickinson and Eileen Dobie, Miles City, Mont.; one brother, Gordon (Betty) Zander, Washington; 45 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; three great, great-grandchildren; and numerous step, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, Allan, Bobby and Raymond; one infant son, Ralph; a granddaughter, Renee Schmaltz; and four brothers, Harold, Willard, Norman and Robert.
