KARY, Beatrice b. 27 Sep 1872 - Russia d. 4 Aug 1952 - Dickinson, North Dakota From The Dickinson ND Press 5 Aug 1952, Beatrice Schmalz of Dickinson, died at her home August 4, (1952)at 11:45 a.m. Monday. She had been ill for four months. The funeral will be held at a time not yet set at St. Edward’s church at Fayette, and interment made at St. Edward’s cemetery. Mrs. Schmalz was born in Russia, September 27, 1872 to Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Kary, and came to the U. S. in 1910. She was married in Russia to Michael Schmalz in 1902. Her husband preceded her in death in 1928 and her sister, Mrs. C. Hartman, died in 1949. Her surviving relatives include Mrs. Francis Barth (sister) of Glen Ullin and Valentine Kary (brother) of Portland, Ore. Nine children survive: George, Ralph, Elizabeth Hartman and Mrs. Florian Schmidt of Dickinson; Kasmier and Frank of Killdeer; Roy of Seattle and Mrs. Walter Davie and Matt Fleck of Dickinson.
