  [S927] Obituary. Jeffrey Gerst?s obituary was published in the Newark [OH] Advocate on 25 Apr 1962: Funeral services for Jeffrey M. Gerst, six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Gerst, 125 N. 12th St., Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with a Mass of the Angels in St. Nicholas Catholic church, Zanesville. The Rev. Father Linus J. Dury will officiate and burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Zanesville. The child died Tuesday in Newark Hospital, where he was admitted Friday and underwent an emergency operation for appendicitis. His father Cletus Gerst is co-owner of the Muffler Shop in Zanesville and the family moved to Newark two years ago where Mr. Gerst engaged in the operation of a similar business. Mrs. Gerst was formerly Romaine Lasure. The parents, four sister, Janice, Janine, Julie and Joyce; two brothers, Jerry and Joseph, survive. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Gerst and Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Lasure of Zanesville. Friends may call at the Hillis Funeral Home, Zanesville.
