Mr. Bulfer was born Jan. 22, 1915 in Lee County, the eldest son of Andrew W. and Nancy (Turner) Bulfer. He graduated from Amboy High School and the Scoville School of Business in Sterling. He married Mearice Wills June 10, 1944. He attained the rank of Lt. Commander in the US Navy during World War II and remained in the service for more than 20 years. After retiring, he joined the firm of George M. Maloff and Company as director of financial planning in San Diego. Services and burial were May 21 in El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego. Mr. Bulfer is survived by his wife; a daughter, Elaine (Tom) Hunt; two sons, Joseph (Rhonda) Bulfer, David (Kelly) Bulfer and five grandchildren, all of California; and sisters, Mary (Louis) Dal Santo of Rockford, Dorothy (Edward) Srennan of Ocala, Fla., Ellen (Donald) Jones of Mendota; and brothers J. Lwster (Lorraine) Bulfer of Mendota, Gilbert (Rita) Bulfer of Sublette and Dennis (Betsy) Bulfer of Dixon.
