Martha (Zentner) Landeis, 84, formerly of Mott, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at her home in Dickinson. Martha's Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m.MST Friday, March 17, 2006, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with the Rev. Jim Braaten as celebrant and the Rev. Patrick Schumacher con-celebrating. Burial will follow at Sunny Slope Cemetery, Mott.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.MST Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. MST Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Deacon Robert Stockert presiding.
Martha Srb was born April 5, 1921, on a farm northwest of Mott to James and Anna (Sounik) Srb. She attended country school and Mott High School. Martha married John R. Zentner on Dec. 17, 1940, in Mott. To this union, seven children were born, Bernice, Donna, Lawrence, Darlyn, Dean, Duane and Brenda.
John passed away in May 1975. Besides being a mother and wife, Martha worked at the Holiday House, Mott Public School, Good Samaritan Home and most recently was working for Easter Seals providing respite care.
Martha married George Landeis in January 1981. George and Martha lived in Valley City, Spearfish, S.D., and retired to Dickinson in 1985. George passed away in October 1996.
Martha enjoyed her family immensely, with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. No one was ever forgotten on their birthday or anniversary with a card from Grandma. She attended every special family occasion and loved visiting with everyone. Martha enjoyed fishing at the lake, road trips, playing cards, bingo, gardening and sewing, and she especially loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. You knew when you stopped at Grandma's house you would not leave without eating, and she always sent food to go. Grandma was a one-of-a-kind lady. She was very special to her family and will forever be missed and loved.
Martha is survived by three daughters, Bernice (Roger) Senn, Mott, Donna (Craig) Dauenhauer, Safford, Ariz., and Darlyn Larson, Dickinson; two sons, Lawrence (Dianne) Zentner and Dean (Judy) Zentner, Mott; 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose (Lawrence) Strand, Regent; one son-in-law, Kelly Doll, Buckley, Wash.; brother-in-law, Innocent (Eva) Zentner, Mott; and two sisters-in-law, Maggie Zentner, Glendive, Mont., and Anna Nicklaus, Kennewick, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; one son, Duane; one daughter, Brenda; one grandson, Grayson; two sons-in-law, Donald and Scott; two sisters, Anne Eikamp and Mary Wallace; and five brothers, Jim, Charles, Joe, Robert and Frank Srb.
