Kathleen (Boehm) Schlosser, 74, died Dec. 8, 2010, at Wyoming Medical Center, Casper, Wyo. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MST Saturday, Dec. 11, at Newcomers Funeral Home, 710 E. Second St., Casper, with Deacon Don Stewart officiating.
Kathleen was born Nov. 26, 1936, in Mobridge, S.D., to Frank and Ann Boehm. She grew up in Mott and married Anselm Schlosser, Sept. 20, 1955, at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott. Together, they raised nine children and lived in Leith, Mott, Grant, N.M., and Rock Springs, Wyo. Anselm died unexpectedly in 1979.
After a short second marriage, Kathleen earned a baccalaureate degree in social work from the University of Wyoming, Laramie, graduating in 1987 with her youngest daughter, Darci. She worked in Casper, Wyo., where she lived until her death.
Kathleen had a gift for music and played organ and piano for funerals, weddings and church services. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, computer games and the history channel. For part of her life, Kathleen struggled with addiction and guilt from the pain it caused her family. She felt proud of achieving 33 years of sobriety. Kathleen's strong faith brought her peace. She spent her last years praying for the family. When God called her home, she was ready.
Kathleen is survived by three sons, J. Allen and friend, Tom Munn, Salt Lake City, Lyle (Aimmee) Schlosser, Brentwood, Calif., and Patrick Schlosser, Carmichael, Calif.; son-in-law, Chris Weydevold, Casper, Wyo.; four daughters, Sylvia (Danny) Esquibel, Rock Springs, Wyo., Kelly (Kent) Porenta, Rock Springs, Tracy (Cal) Potter, Layton, Utah, and Carmen (Dale) Abbott, Kearns, Utah; 12 grandchildren, Adam and Emilio Esquibel, Neil and Michael (Desiree) Potter, Cali (Neil) Schmidt, Melissa Abbott, Mykayla, MyKenzie, Amanda and Aarron Schlosser and Anha and Gibson Weydeveld; three great-grandchildren, Kylee, Violet and Lili; one brother, Don (Kathy) Boehm, Mandan; and five sisters, LaVonn (Dick) Steiner, Bismarck, Pat (Cliff) Zent, Rapid City, S.D., MaDonna (Dennis) Stanford, Valley City, Cyndy (Tom) Gaj, San Antonio, Texas, and Lori (Court) Shereck, Sioux Falls, S.D.
