  [S927] Obituary. Francis Joseph Rund, 80 ROCKFORD -- Francis Joseph Rund, 80, of Rockford died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, in Alden Park Strathmoor Nursing Home. He was born March 18, 1923, in Murdock Township to Wilbur and Veronica Vetter Rund. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Francis married Pauline Jones June 1, 1955, in Rockford. They were married for 40 years before her death on April 2, 1996. Francis loved his family and being a member of the Rockford Model Airplane Club. Survivors include daughter, Betty Davis; granddaughter, Laurie (Shoultz) Grimes and great-granddaughter, Katie Grimes; brothers, Lawrence of Florida, Joe of Mississippi, Valentine of California, Bob of Metcalf, and Raymond and John, both of Hume; sisters, Alice Cunningham and Shirley Camp of Paris. Also predeceased by brother, Donnie; sister, Pauline Ochs; parents, Wilbur and Helen; biological mother, Veronica Vetter; and granddaughter, Melanie Davis. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, with the Rev. Father Atto officiating. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, in Perry Chapel, 6825 Weaver Road, and 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Illinois at Perry Chapel.
