Martha L. Spiess Fulk, 84, enjoyed writing poetry
NOVA -- Martha L. (née Miller) Spiess Fulk, 84, of Nova died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Hospice House in Ashland.
She was born May 19, 1927, in Mansfield to Paul and Mary (Taus) Miller. She graduated from Union High School in 1946. Martha married Herschel Fulk on Nov. 12, 1949. She was an operator for Ohio Bell and worked for the Reed House Family Restaurant. Martha enjoyed writing poems, many of which were published. She was a member of two poet societies, 4-H, Nova United Methodist Church, Polk Gardeners and a ladies golf league. Martha had been a den mother, volunteered with the Boy Scouts and enjoyed making ice cream for church functions.
Martha will be deeply missed by her son, Paul (Debra) Spiess; grandchildren, Sherla, Brian and Laura; son, Samuel Fulk; son, Ronald (Dawn) Fulk; grandchildren, Amy McFall, Benjamin Fulk and Roni Bennett; daughter, Vicki (Brent) Fulk Pence; and grandchildren, Jeremy and Calla; great-grandchildren, Derek Young, Dillon and Cheyenne McCartney, Julia and Audrey Spiess, Rianna and Gregory Fulk, Bryson Simulcik, Izabella Bennett and Elizabeth McFall; and a sister, Doris Swartz.
Martha was preceded in death by husband, Herschel; and her sister, Pauline Cooper.
Friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28. 2012, at Roberts Funeral Home, 1058 U.S. 250 N., Ashland.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Harry N. Finkbone officiating.
Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park.
