A private family burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. Ralph was born March 1, 1931, to John and Lydia (Heft) Bender in McClusky. He was raised and educated in rural McClusky. Ralph was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged in October 1954. He married Delores Bonnet on Nov. 11, 1954, in McClusky and together, they had two daughters. Ralph was employed with the Bismarck Tribune for 30 years, until retiring in 1985. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Delores; two daughters, Darcene Hardy, Mandan, and Durene Gruebele, Bismarck; four grandchildren, Kyle (Amanda) Hardy, Kari Hardy and (Jason Christianson), Kayla Hardy and Jayla Gruebele; three great-grandchildren, Bryce Hardy, Keaton Christianson and Brylee Christianson; and one sister, Ruby Schimke.
