Jennifer Marie Bitz, 41, Bismarck, passed away October 28, 2012, in her sleep with her mother at her side, at St. Alexius Medical Center due to a long illness.
Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, November 2, at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with Rev. Ed Wehner officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm ? 8:00 pm Thursday, November 1, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Jennifer was born September 9, 1971, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Susan (Zent) Pollak and John Bitz. She was raised and educated in Bismarck. With a passion to help people, Jennifer received a bachelor's degree in addiction counseling at Jamestown State College. She worked with Stutsman County Social Services and then went on to graduate with a master's in psychology from the University of Phoenix. Shortly thereafter, Jennifer moved back to Bismarck to pursue a PhD in Christian psychology.
Jennifer was employed for a time by the Dollar Tree while she continued her education.
Jennifer was a special and inspirational person. She excelled in artwork and her passions in life were helping others, running marathons, and living life to its fullest.
Jennifer is survived by her parents; her stepmother, Janelle; her brother, James; her four sisters, Jessica, Carissa, Shalee and Rhiannon; her special aunt and uncle, Ron and Cheryle Bitz; numerous aunts, uncles, and nieces; and special friends, Gail, Rachelle, and Anita.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ira and Josie Zent and her paternal grandparents, Paul and Rose Bitz.
Memorial may be given to Teen Challenge.
