Annie was born Oct. 11, 1908, in rural Morton County, near St. Anthony, the daughter of Anton and Margaret (Bullinger) Leingang. As a young girl, she moved with her family to a farm in Sioux County, near Solen. She received her elementary education in rural Sioux County schools, and continued to live at home on the farm with her family. Annie was married to Joseph Schwengler, on Oct. 14, 1935 at Solen. Following the couple's marriage, they returned to the Schwengler family farm, 14 miles southeast of Napoleon. They lived and farmed there until 1964, when their farm was destroyed by a tornado. That year they retired and moved to Napoleon. Mr. Schwengler preceded her in death on May 15, 1984. Annie was employed by the Napoleon Care Center as an aid for many years. Annie then moved to Mandan, in 1985, and lived there three years. She later made her home at the Gackle Care Center for many years and most recently resided at Rock of Ages Basic Care Facility in Jamestown.
Annie was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and the St. Philip Neri Catholic Mothers Altar Society. Her hobbies included a love for crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; seven brothers, Alex, John, Tony, Adam, Jacob, Francis and Edward; and one sister, Clara. (Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon)
