Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Church of the Ascension, Bismarck, with the Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish vigil will begin at 7:30 tonight, followed by a parish rosary at 8. Caroline was born Jan. 2, 1920, in St. Anthony, the youngest of 13 children, to George T. and Aqualina (Leingang) Wetsch. She was raised and educated in the St. Anthony area. On Nov. 24, 1941, she married Frank G. Schaff in St. Anthony. After their marriage, they moved to Solen, where they both farmed. Amongst her interests, Caroline enjoyed quilting, craftwork, gardening and baking. Her love for her family will always be remembered. She is survived by three sons, Edward, Bismarck, Al, Fargo, and Lawrence, Grand Forks; one daughter, Doris Schaff, Bismarck; one brother, Clemens Wetsch, Minot; and one sister, Margaret Gangl, St. Anthony. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died in March 1991; one son, Eugene, who died in January 1991; three brothers; and seven sisters. The family prefers memorials be given to the Bismarck Baptist Nursing Home.
