Ellenbecker 1919 - 2007 Lawrence Marysville ? A funeral Mass for Leo A. Ellenbecker, 88, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at St. Gregory?s Catholic Church in Marysville. Mr. Ellenbecker died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1919, in Marysville, the son of Joseph and Theresa Trienen Ellenbecker. Mr. Ellenbecker served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of American Legion. He married Eileen Brychta on June 5, 1946, in Hanover. She survives, of the home. Other survivors include five daughters, Sandra File and Robyn Ice, both of Lawrence, Celeste Pierce, Overland Park, Marykay Scanlon, Lenexa, and Denise Guthrie, Fredonia; three sons, Joe, Lawrence, Mike, Eagan, Minn., and Philip, Lincoln, Neb.; and 18 grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association, 200 Maine, Suite C, Lawrence 66044. Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
