Otto, age 84 of Jasper passed away at 3:00 a.m. Wednesday (September 28, 2011) at the home of her daughter . She was born at Dubois, Indiana November 6, 1926 to Ben and Anna (Nonte) Kempf. She married Arnold L. Otto on November 23, 1948 in St. Raphael?s Catholic Church in Dubois, he preceded her in death on January 14, 2006. Gennie retired from Wilsons Flowers in Jasper where she had worked for many years. She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church ? St. Ann?s Society. She enjoyed making ribbon bows, embroidery and flowers and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving, One daughter, Mrs. Jay (Kathleen) Day, Jasper, IN Two sons, Gerald Otto , Jasper, IN Randy Otto and spouse Jan, Celestine, IN Four grandchildren, Kevin and Mike Day, Chris and Jordan Otto and seven great grandchildren. Three sisters, Frieda Kuntz, Jasper, IN Sr. Christine Kempf OSB, Ferdinand, IN, Alice Kalb, Ferdinand, IN Preceding her in death besides her husband is one great grandson. Two brothers, Sylvester Kempf and Emil Kempf and one sister Mathilda Dinwiddie. Also a daughter in law Janet Otto. Funeral services for Genevieve Otto will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (October 1, 2011) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher & Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Rosary service at 3:00 p.m. by the St. Ann?s Society. Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Genevieve Otto.
