Bertha Shiner SHINER, Bertha October 10, 1912 to June 1, 2009 Our Dear Mother passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord June 1, 2009. Born in 1912 in Shoal Lake, Manitoba. She grew up in Brentwood Bay area attended Brentwood Bay school and Victoria High. She was active in the Sluggett Memorial Baptist Church. She raised four children Claire Trowsdale, Ruth Sadler, John & David. Predeceased by her husband Alfred and son David. The family lived on the Butchart Gardens property for over 40 years where her husband Alfred was the head gardener for many years. She was recognised by her gentle spirit and friendly smile. She will be missed by her 3 children and 9 grandchildren and 19 Great grandchildren, also in laws and spouses. Many thanks to the staff of the Saanich Peninsula Hospital extended care & Dr George.
