Age 89 - May 9, 2012 Born and raised on a farm in South Dakota, he attended and graduated from Emery High School in Emery, South Dakota. Bob farmed with his father for 14 years before attending and graduating with a BA from Augustana College. He received his masters of Library Science from Denver University. For many years, Bob was the librarian at Augustana Lutheran Church where he also taped church services and funerals to be shared with homebound church members. Bob retired from the McGoogan Library at UNMC. He was well known for his vegetable garden as well as his flowers and many trees. He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Anna (Beier) Lehr and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen; son Tom and his family Chris, Gabe and Ceci; son Bob and his family Tami, Merissa and Ilana; sister Dorothy Bleeker; niece Beth Gust; nephew Sylvan Bleeker.
