Deceased Name: JOHN CHARLES SCHUMACHER , MAYSVILLE LEADER, 42, DIES
John Charles Schumacher, a Maysville businessman and community leader, died Tuesday at Columbia Hospital Maysville. He was 42.
Mr. Schumacher, a New York Life Insurance agent, was co-owner of Richmond Insurance Agency of Kentucky Inc. in Maysville. He also had been operation manager of the Browning Medical Building and executive director of the Hayswood Foundation in Maysville. He was a former purchasing agent at Browning Manufacturing in Maysville.
Mr. Schumacher had been a member of the board of the Limestone Family YMCA; chairman of the board of Meadowview Regional Hospital; a member of the parish council of St. Patrick Catholic Church; a member of the Maysville Board of Planning and Zoning Adjustment; and grand noble of DeKalb I.O.O.F. Lodge in Maysville. Active in professional organizations, he was a member of the New York Life Executive Council.
He was a Mount Sterling native and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Shugars Schumacher; two sons, Jonathan Schumacher and Carter Schumacher; six brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maysville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Contributions are suggested to St. Patrick School, 318 Limestone Street, Maysville, Ky. 41056. Knox & Brothers Funeral Home in Maysville is in charge of arrangements.
