HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Mr. John P. Squires of Hollywood, Fla., formerly of Lakeland, died of congestive heart failure Thursday (Sept. 21, 2006) in Hollywood. He was 90. Born in Pittsburgh on May 18, 1916, he was a supervisor in the aircraft manufacturing industry. He was a Catholic. Mr. Squires is survived by his daughter, Barbara A. Grasso, Hollywood; son, John R. Squires, Wayne, N.J.; sisters, Mary Battung and Ruth Lauda, both of Pittsburgh; brother, William Squires, Dallas; seven grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lakeland Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 809 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland, FL 33801.
