Thomas Carolyn S. Thomas, 64, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Major Hospital. Born July 25, 1946, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Kenneth M. and Kathryn E. "Dottie" (Winkler) Anspaugh. She married Jerry L. Thomas on Jan. 13, 1973, and he survives. Other survivors include brothers, Fred T. (wife, Lou Anne) Anspaugh of Shelbyville and Ray F. (wife, Lee Ann) Anspaugh of Hope; sister-in-law, Carol Anspaugh of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert L. Anspaugh. Mrs. Thomas was a lifelong resident of Shelbyville and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1964. She had been employed as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Thomas was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and of Kappa Kappa Sigma Nu Chapter. Carolyn was very fond of her poodles, Pepi and Pebbles, who also preceded her in death. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
