  [S927] Obituary. CALDWELL -- George Fredric "Fred" Schneeberger, 83, of Caldwell, died Tuesday (Sept. 1, 2009) at his home. He was born March 31, 1926, in Jefferson Township, Noble County, son of the late Clarence and Edna Addlesburger Schneeberger. Mr. Schneeberger was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and Seabees, having served in the Pacific Theater. Following World War II, he logged using his draft horses for Morris Lumber and Henry Schott Lumber. He retired from the former Dana Corporation Plant in Caldwell, following 37 years of service. He owned and operated a family farm for many years. He was a member of United Steel Workers Union, and enjoyed working his draft horses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, David Schneeberger. He leaves his wife, Grace V. Schramm Schneeberger, whom he married Dec. 24, 1952; two sons, William E. (Carol) Schneeberger of Whipple and Daniel R. Schneeberger of Caldwell; a special granddaughter, Jessica McAlarney of Whipple; two sisters, Irene (Irvil) Boney of Caldwell and Kathryn (Albert) Boyd of Dexter City; two brothers, Raymond (June) Schneeberger of Caldwell and Paul (Arlene) Schneeberger of Dexter City; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where services will be 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Mark Leslie officiating.
