His OBITUARY:
John Jacob Krannitz, age 78 of Logan, Ohio, passed away, Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio.
Born January 22, 1934 in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of the late Joseph Francis and Mary Magdalene (Schrader) Krannitz.
John was a Brick Mason having worked 30 years plus for Logan Clay Products & Kilbarger Construction, Inc. as Shop Manager for parts & supplies for 28 years.
John was a member of St. John Catholic Church, where he was a major volunteer for the construction of Our Lady's Hall in 2001 and the concrete wall surrounding the church property and had refurbished the Shrine of Our Immaculate Mother.
He is survived by his wife Dolores Ann (Kilbarger) Krannitz, two sons Michael E. (Ellen) Krannitz of Raleigh, North Carolina and Edward W. (Mary) Carpenter of Lancaster, Ohio. Two daughters Christina M. "Tina" (Jeff) Maguire and Mary T. (Ron) Fannon both of Logan, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One brother James J. (Lola) Krannitz and four sisters Joan I. Kunkler, Elizabeth J. "Betty" Roop, Marjorie "Ann" (Ed) Kilbarger all of Logan, Ohio and Dorothy J. (Dale) Olive of Lancaster, Ohio. One sister-in-law Anna Mary Krannitz of Lancaster, Ohio.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Kathryn (Sparks) Krannitz, one son, Gregory D. Carpenter, one brother Charles R. Krannitz, three sisters & brother-in-laws Catherine Agnes McDaniel & Jay McDaniel Jr.; & Lucille & Paul Kunkler; Mary Margaret & William Whitla; two brother-in-laws Raymond Kunkler & Charles E. Roop Sr. and four infant brothers.
Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at St. John Catholic, Logan, Ohio with Monsignor William A. Dunn officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.
Friends may call Today from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home where a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7:45 pm.
The family suggests that contributions in John's memory may be given to St. John Catholic Church or St. John Catholic School c/o 351 North Market Street Logan, Ohio 43138.
