Birth: Jan. 22, 1919 Opelousas St. Landry Parish Louisiana, USA Death: Apr. 1, 1999 Opelousas St. Landry Parish Louisiana, USA Funeral services for Mr. Paul Manouvrier Sr., 80, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Manouvrier, a resident and native of Opelousas, died at 3:50 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 1999, in Opelousas General Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Eight Air Force 385 Bomb Group of the Army Air Cops and a former POW. Mr. Manouvrier retired from Gulf Oil Company Refinery in Krotz Springs after 35 years as a supervisor of the clerical department. Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Wolff Manouvrier of Opelousas; a son, Paul J. Manouvrier Jr. of New Orleans; and two sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Brand of Lafayette and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Parker of New Orleans. Mr. Manouvrier was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine Sr. and Inez Manouvrier; and a brother, A.J. Manouvrier Jr. Visiting hours will be observed from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
