Karen F. Schulz, age 69, of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, October 18, 2011 at St. Nicholas Hospital.
Karen was born June 29, 1942 in Sheboygan to Edward and Anna (Billmann) Voigt. She was a graduate of Sheboygan South High School, Class of 1961.
On June 30, 1962 Karen was united in marriage to Robert A.E. Schulz at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. In 1971 the couple moved to Rockford, IL. For a number of years Karen was employed at Fisher's Potato Chip Co. For the majority of her life she was a homemaker to her family. On September 19, 1999 Robert preceded her in death.
In January of 2001 Karen moved back to Sheboygan.
Karen's hobbies included gardening, reading, playing cards, and working crossword puzzles. She also held a special love of animals.
She is survived by two children, Tamara L. (Vincent) Kirkpatrick and Bob (Shawn Quam) Schulz; three grandchildren, Tyler (Brittany St. Clair) Kirkpatrick and their soon to be born daughter, Brianna Kirkpatrick, and Devin Kirkpatrick, all of Loves Park, IL; one brother, Edward (Nancy) Voigt; one sister, Janet Woods, all of Sheboygan; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Bauer.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (Today) at 4:00 p.m. at Ballhorn Chapels. A time of visitation and support will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
Karen will always be remembered as a loving sister,
mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
