Comments: I have a few additions and corrections to your information concerning Magdalena Helfer 1848-1926. Magdalena's first name was Elnora and her daughter Margaret Lena Barbara Herter was my grandmother.
Concerning her children by Johannes Herter.
1. Philip Herter died on 19 July 1939.
2. Jacob Peter Herter died 5 Oct. 1935 in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois.
3. Julianna Herter died in Elwood, Madison County, Indiana.
4. Michael Herter died in Corydon, Harrison County, Indiana.
5. Margaret Lena Barbara Herter died in New Middletown, Indiana (my grandmother).
6. Anna Maria Herter died in Rossford, Wood County, Ohio
Children with John Michael Resch:
1. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Resch died 8 May 1958 (the 11th was when she was buried). She was a twin.
2. John Peter Resch was also born 11 Jun. 1878 (twin of Lizzie). and he died in Aug. 1879 in Harrison County, Indiana.
3. Anna Margaretha Barbara Resch died in Paoli, Orange County, Indiana.
4. William Frank Resch died 25 Dec. 1964 in Falls City, Richardson County, Nebraska according to his obituary.
5. George Charles Resch died 11 July 1962 in Scott County, Indiana.
6. Louis Wendell (he went by Walter) Resch
My mother always said her grandmother had 6 children by John Herter and 6 children by Michael Resch. I can not find any record of a Mary Resch born ca 1886 except a female child born to a John W. Resch in that year.
