Martin, 88, of Moline, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at her residence. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, Ill. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Maxton Funeral Home, DuQuoin. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, DuQuoin. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice House, 1225 E. River Drive, Davenport, IA 52804. Lorene was born Feb. 12, 1917, in Vergennes, Ill., to John F. and Gertrude Eisenhauer Schneider. She married James L. Martin on June 23, 1942, at Sacred Heart Catholic, DuQuoin. He preceded her in death. Lorene was a member of Sacred Heart, DuQuoin, where she was an active member of the Catholic Daughters and their quilting club. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Pinckneyville, Ill., and a member of St. Anne's Altar Society, DuQuoin. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and sewing for herself and others. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifelong resident of Vergennes. Survivors include daughter Dorothy R. Martin, Moline; son James L. (spouse, Kathy) Martin, Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Lisa Evans, Shawn Martin, Shannon Martin, Jason Martin, Tiffany Martin, Jennifer Martin; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Sandy Larson, Kathryn, Laura and Renee.
