TELL CITY ? Rosalie E. Lutgring, 87, died at 10:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills in Tell City.
She was born in Tell City Sept. 9, 1921, to the late Albert P. and Clara (Gasser) Hartz. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Alberta Egnew; two sons in infancy and a great-granddaughter, Madison Rose Sims.
A 1939 Tell City High School graduate, she married Paul Lutgring Oct. 28, 1941, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. They were former co-owners of Lutgring Brothers Inc. She was a member of Tell City Historical Society and St. Paul Catholic Church. A homemaker, she enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, shopping and having lunch with her classmates, the 39ers.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Paul Lutgring of Tell City; four daughters, Gayle Sisley of Newburgh, Rachel Isabell of Rockport and Mary Jo Hubert and Pat Solbring, both of Tell City; four sons, Phillip Lutgring of Huntingburg and Daniel, Steve and Jeff Lutgring of Tell City; a sister, Mary Atkinson of Palo Alto, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, Natalie McLaughlin, Brian Sisley, Denise Sims, Jason and David Hubert, Stephanie Epple, Kimberly Arndt, Nicole Weaver, Beth Trinkel, Trish Solbrig, Nicholas, Megan and Tyler Isabell and Jennifer, Bret, Madeline, Kristopher, Grant, Adam, Trista and Kira Lutgring and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City with burial in St. Mary?s Cemetery. The Rev. Timothy Sweeney OSB will officiate.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. A parish prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Rose Sims Memorial Fund in care of First State Bank.
