  [S927] Obituary. John Edward Sibel, Neosho Rapids Emporia native John ?Jack? Edward Sibel died Saturday, April 7 , 2007, at his home in Neosho Rapids. He was 73. Mr. Sibel owned an air cool pad supply company at Tucson, Ariz., for 11 years before he retired 24 years ago. Earlier, he worked as a carpenter?s helper and then for Tucson Gas and Electric until 1972, when he bought the supply company. He also owned and operated the Black Ledge Condo apartments in Tucson. In Neosho Rapids, he did repair work. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. The son of Meyers Edward and LaVera Davis Sibel, he was born Jan. 18, 1934, in Emporia. He attended school in Emporia and Williamsburg. Mr. Sibel was a member of Emporia Masonic Lodge 12 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the board of Rural Water District 4. He was a volunteer with the Neosho Rapids Volunteer Fire Department and also was a volunteer at the annual Neosho Rapids Haunted House. He is survived by one son, Jay Sibel of Tucson, Ariz., and two grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Burial, with graveside services by Emporia Masonic Lodge 12, American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowry-Funston Post 1980, will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, east of Emporia. Memorial contributions to Hand in Hand Hospice, Lyon County Fairgrounds Development Fund or the Sertoma Club Miniature Train at Soden?s Grove may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
