Birth: Sep. 14, 1915 Falls Mill Braxton County West Virginia, USA Death: Jul. 7, 2009 Westernport Allegany County Maryland, USA Goldie Virginia Watson, 93, of Keyser, WV, formerly of Clarksburg, WV, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, MD. Born on September 14, 1915 at Falls Mills in Braxton County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Jessie Bridget (Mick) Handschumacher. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Watson in September 1988 and by an infant son. Mrs. Watson was retired as a sales clerk with the Will H. Meltes Department Store in Clarksburg. She was a 1932 graduate of Victory High School in Clarksburg and was a long time member of the Christ Church United Methodist on Pike Street where she was very active in many different facets of the life of the church. Surviving are two sons, Gary Wayne Watson and wife Vickie of Homosassa, FL and Preston County, WV and James Robert Watson and wife Jerry Ann of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, Tracy Brenneman and husband Doug of Accident, MD, Scott Watson of Charlotte, NC, Chelsea Ryan and husband Sean of Richmond and Ashley Flanagan and husband Casey of Bethesda, MD; one stepgrandson, Jamie Cooper and wife Tammy of Petersburg, WV and six great-grandchildren.
