  [S927] Obituary. Herbert J. Dover, age 76, of Canton, passed away Friday afternoon in Mercy Medical Center. Mr. Dover was born April 12, 1927 in Canton and had lived in our area all of his life. Preceded in death by his parents, Herbert E. and Ella (Johanning) Dover, a sister, Helen Stanley and a brother, Ralph Dover. He retired from Republic Steel Corp. of Canton and a former member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Canton, VFW Post #3747 of Canton, and the American Legion #548 of Louisville. He served in the Navy during World War II. Survived by four sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Davis of Canton, Rita Marciniak of Steubenville, Louise and Herman White of N. Canton, Mary and John Simon of Louisville; one brother, Raymond E. Dover of Canton; many nieces and nephews; and also a special friend, Mary Zablo of Canton. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home with Fr. Joseph Gleixner M.S.C. officiating. Friends may call Monday evening 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
