Kirschenmann, Albert
Eureka - Albert Kirschenmann, 81, of Eureka, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at the Senior Citizens Home in Hosmer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at the United Church of Christ, Pastor Diane Kiesz officiating. Burial will follow at the Eureka Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Albert was born Nov. 20, 1923, in McPherson County to Jacob Kirschnemann and Dorothy Weller. He married Edna Kappes March 11, 1951, at Long Lake. She died June 2, 1979. He married Lorraine Geiszler Oct. 26. 1985, at Lehr, N.D. He lived on the farm where he was born until 1987. They moved to Eureka in 1987. He enjoyed going out to the farm and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the United Church of Christ. He served on many of the church boards. He was a Sunday school teacher and worked as a groundskeeper at Lehr Camp. He also was on the FHA Board. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Eureka; sons, Jacob (Janice) Kirschenmann of Bowdle and Jerome (Jean) Kirschenmann of Elkton, stepsons, Walter (Jeanette) Geiszler of Sioux Falls, Larry (Barbara) Geiszler of Lexington, Minn., and Loren (Shelly) Geiszler of Bismarck, N.D.; daughters, Carol (Gary) Zundel of Aberdeen and Linda (Wayne) Fischer of Leola; stepdaughters, Annette (Don) Heinle of Herreid and Amy (Daryl) Geiszler Jones of Wichita, Kan.; sisters, Mathilda Poland of Portland, Ore. and Ruth Kappes of Eureka; brother, Emil Kirschenmann of Fort Meade; seven grandchildren; eight stepgrandchidlren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one infant daughter, four half brothers, five half sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Organist will be Willis Kiesz. Music will be a solo by Willis Kiesz and congregational singing. Casketbearers will be Joshua Fischer, Jason Kirschenmann, Terry Zetterlund, Barry Lapp, Norman Stickelmyer and Dale Clark. Honorary casketbearers will be Raymond Graff, Ervin Aman, Ervin Beck and Albert Metzger. Straub's Funeral Home in Eureka is in charge of arrangements.
