Loretta (Stroh) Dockter, a longtime resident of Lodi, CA went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the age of 80. Loretta was born on July 10, 1928 to Jacob and Lydia (Retzer) Stroh in Venturia, North Dakota. In 1946 Loretta married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, Walter Dockter who passed away on January 25, 2000.
In 1953 the couple moved to Lodi with their only child Judi.
Loretta worked as a cosmetologist for over 25 years. She was a longtime member of Zion Reformed Church in Lodi where one of her greatest pleasures was singing in the choir. Loretta was an accomplished organist and loved playing for her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Judi Archuleta of Lodi; her grandson, Jordan Archuleta and his wife Heather; and her great-grandson, Severiano Nicholas Archuleta born on December 2, 2008. She is also survived by one brother, Edwin Stroh and his wife Melinda of Mobridge, South Dakota; and by many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Lydia Stroh; her husband Walter Dockter; brothers Berthold, Herbert, and Wilbert Stroh; sisters Hulda Loebs, Edna Neuhart, Martha Opp Maier, and Adeline Ehley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th from 1:00 ? 8:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, near Beckman Road, Lodi.
A Private Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 12th, in the Garden of Trees at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, with Pastor Herbert Schaal officiating.
