Birth: Jul. 16, 1922 Olney Richland County Illinois, USA Death: Dec. 20, 1987 Olney Richland County Illinois, USA Frederick "Gene" Leaf, 65, of Olney, died at 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 1987, at his home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, the Bro. Lyle Berry presiding. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Olney Veterans Organizations. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Summers Funeral Home in Olney. Mr. Leaf was born July 16, 1922, in Olney, the son of Raymond and Cora Margaret (Taylor) Leaf. He was a retired truck driver for Dresser-Atlas, a member of the V.F.W and was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran. Survivors include three sons, Larry Eugene Leaf and Jeffrey Henry Leaf, both of Olney, and Tommy Allen Leaf of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Judith Kay Wesner, Olney, and Julie Ann Leaf, Clinton, Ind.; four brothers, George Leaf, Richard Leaf and John Leaf, all of Olney, and Charles Leaf of Woodward, Okla.; four sisters, Minnie and Barb Leaf, both of Olney, Betty O'Brian, Claremont, and Mary Fregeau, Douglas, Ga.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons and one brother.
