AUBURN ? Glen Abraham DeLucenay, 79, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at his home in Auburn surrounded by his family.
Mr. DeLucenay was born Jan. 23, 1931, in Auburn, to Elmer and Oneeda (Sherck) DeLucenay. They both preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Auburn High School, class of 1949. He then graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science, class of 1951.
He started his career as a funeral director with the Gerig Funeral Home in Auburn and worked there from 1955-1969. He then went into office supply sales until his retirement in 1995.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1951-1955.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn.
He married Betty Joyce Smith on July 24, 1954, in the St. Margaret Mary Church in Winter Park, Florida. She survives in Auburn.
Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Michael G. and Julie DeLucenay of Syracuse; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl (DeLucenay) and Bill Walker of Huntington, Sue (DeLucenay) and Gary Amerman of Auburn, Kimberly (DeLucenay) and Greg Raub of Auburn, and Kelly DeLucenay of Auburn; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ed Green of Butler, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, David Amerman, Adam DeLucenay, Ashley DeLucenay, Nicholas Raub and Lucas Raub; and three great-grandchildren, Landin Amerman, Dawson Amerman, and Justin Stucker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 500 E. Seventh St., Auburn, with calling from 9-10 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Father Derrick Sneyd will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Calling will also be be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Feller & Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St., Auburn, with the rosary service being recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to DeKalb Memorial Hospice, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, or Masses to the church.
