Justine A. Vollmer age 79 of Jasper died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday (October 12,
2003) at the Northwood Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasper.
She was born at Jasper, Indiana on October 6, 1924. Her parents; Anton and
Theresia (Rees) Vollmer.
She was a graduate of Jasper High School and the Nazareth School of
Nursing associated with the former St. Joseph?s Infirmary at Louisville,
Kentucky. She served in the U.S. Army Cadet Nursing Corp.
She was a Registered Nurse and was the 10th Street School Nurse for many
years, she retired from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper
where she was Director of Nursing for several years and later worked in the
Education Department.
Memberships include St. Joseph?s Catholic Church and the Daughters of
Isabella.
Surviving are 1 sister; Mrs. Ed ?Joan? Pfister, Jasper, IN
2 brothers;
Tom Vollmer, Jasper, IN
Robert Vollmer, Evansville, IN
12 nieces and nephews, 18 great nieceds and nephews and 1 great great nephew also survive.
Preceding her in death are 3 brothers; Msgr. Roman F. Vollmer, Ambrose
Vollmer and Eugene Vollmer died in infancy.
Funeral services for Justine A. Vollmer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday
(October 15, 2003) in St. Joseph?s Catholic Church with burial to follow in
Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher - Kluesner Downtown
Chapel in Jasper.
Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday by the D of I?s .
Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospital and Health Care
Center, The Northwood Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasper or to St.
Joseph?s Catholic Church.
