From the Herald, 6 May 2009: "Louise M. Bonifer, 97, Schnellville, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born at St. Anthony Sept. 2, 1911, to August and Clara (Alles) Wehr. She married Hubert Bonifer Oct. 14, 1931; he died Sept. 17, 1974. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Shirley) Terwiske and Mrs. Gary (Diane) Bair of Dubois, Doris Schnell, Schnellville, and Mrs. William (Ruth) Hauser, St. Anthony; four sons, Ronald Bonifer of Jasper, Kenneth Bonifer of Orlando, Fla., Ralph Bonifer, Chicago, Ill., and Eugene (Butch) Bonifer, Dubois; a sister, Alice Bockelman, Jasper; 21 grandchildren; a step-grandson; 41 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a step-great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Edwin Wehr; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. Mrs. Bonifer was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its St. Anne Society in Schnellville, Schnellville Extension Homemakers Club, and the St. Anthony American Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies were cards and quilting. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Schnellville. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, St. Anthony."
