  [S927] Obituary. Beam Road Ellen Louise Knoy, 83, of Beam Road, passed from this life at 8:10 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Mrs. Knoy accepted the Lord as her Savior at the age of 16 and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. She also helped with Sunday school and Vacation Bible School as well as assisting with Child Evangelism at Muscatatuck State Hospital for several years. Ellen loved the outdoors and when not hosting one of the many garage sales at her Beam Road residence, could be found gardening or playing basketball with her children. She also loved to walk her dogs, work on the family farm, and ride her bicycle. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Garden of Gethsemane section at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. David Blystone officiating. Calling hours are not planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home. She married Claude L. Knoy Jr. June 12, 1949. He preceded her in death March 4, 2012. Survivors include her children, Sam Knoy, Cissy Knoy, Roy (Lea) Knoy, and Michael (Cheryl) Knoy all of Columbus; grandchildren, Dan (Beth), Chris (Allison), Jon, Emma, Samantha, and Sarah Knoy; and great-grandchildren, Abby, Hayden and Violet Knoy.
