Mr Shank was born in Harrison township August 4, 1880, the son of Mr and Mrs August Shank. He spent most of his life on a farm in Harrison township. In 1929 he moved to a farm near Vandalia Mich, and five weeks ago came to the Connor home. He was married in 1906 to Elva Mable Berkey; she died in 1925. In 1927 he married Ella McFadden. Surviving are his wife, four children, Mrs Lewis Sanders of Fort Wayne, Mrs Lloyd Holmes of Elkhart, Cyrus T Shank of Elkhart and Miss Helen June Shank of Fort Wayne; two step-daughters, Mrs Jack Connor of Elkhart and Mrs Chester Ammerman of Wolcottville; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Rufus Canen of Elkhart and Mrs Frank Kollar of Vandalia, Mich.; and three brothers, Oscar Shank, of Goshen, Ora Shank of Mishawaka and Edward Shank of Elkhart. The body was taken to the Culp funeral home in Goshen where services were held at 1 pm Wednesday. Further services were held at 2 o'clock at the Yellow Creek Brick church, with the Rev Frank Kreider officiating. Burial was in the Yellow Creek cemetery.
