He formerly lived on North Fifth street but before going to the nursing home lived in the home of a son, Gordon, near Shadeland.Born in Tippecanoe county, he was a retired Monon railroad hostler.Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Lucille Prough, Battle Ground, Mrs. Mildred Dixon, Miami, Fla., Mrs. Ralph Klutzke, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Betty Wallace, Delphi, and Mrs. Katherine Smart, Attica; two sons, Walter of West Lafayette and Gordon of near Shadeland, and two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Lairy and Mrs. Hazel Good, both of Lafayette.The son, Gordon, whose wife and son were killed in an airplane crash several weeks ago, left Saturday on an automobile trip to Houston, Tex. and attempts were being made to locate him Monday.
