  [S927] Obituary. John Schwallie's obituary appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal on June 23, 1952. Funeral services for John Schwallie, 89, of Fulda, Noble county, will be conducted at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Mary's church in Fulda with Rev. B. J. Mattes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Schwallie died at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon at his home. He was the father of two local residents. A retired farmer, he was the oldest member of St. Mary's church. He was born in Noble county where he spent most of his life. He was the son of George and Mary Funk (Fox) Schwallie and was the last survivor of six children. Surviving are his widow Helena Kinnen Schwallie; four daughters, Miss Annie Schwallie of the home, Mrs. Gertrude Schockling of Caldwell, Miss Elizabeth Schwallie of Burkhart and Mrs. Mary Miller of 1111 Spence avenue; a son Aloysius of Zanesville Route 4, and 14 grandchildren. The body was returned to the residence Sunday from the Brubach funeral home in Summerfield.
