Barbara Joan Haas, 78, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Pine Haven Nursing Center.
Barbara worked as an operator in the 1950s for Indiana Bell. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, the No Ruz Grotto, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 52 years, Louis B. Haas Sr. of Evansville; son, Louis Haas Jr. and his wife, Barbara Sue of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; daughter, Barbara Louise Haas of Ames, Iowa; and son, Fred Haas and his wife, Kelly, of Evansville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Vickie, Sara and Penny Haas, Isaiah Huber, and Corissa (Haas) Sale and her husband, J.D.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Clyde (Brown) Fischer; her sister, Marjorie Fischer; her brother, Jack Fischer; and a grandson, Nathan Haas.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 First Avenue, with Reverend Jeff Long officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, May 28, from 2 to 8 p.m., and continued on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
