Dorothy 'Babs' Lucille Beardsley Hendershot Dorothy "Babs" Lucille Beardsley Hendershot, 84, of Dale Street, Marietta, died at 7 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 14, 2004) in Heartland of Marietta. She was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Waterford, a daughter of the late Charles and Nora Peters Beardsley. She was a graduate of Waterford High School and had been employed in the dietary department of Marietta Memorial Hospital for 12 years until her retirement. She enjoyed music and attending square dances with her husband who was a musician. She is survived by two sons, Donald Robert Hendershot of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Richard L. Hendershot and his wife, Debbie, of Marietta; two daughters, Linda Dotson and Peggy Noreen Miller and her husband, Michael, all of Marietta; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Herbert Alva Beardsley of Lowell; and two sisters, Eloise "Winkie" Beardsley of Bloomingburg, Ohio, and Eileen Beardsley of Vienna, W.Va. On July 17, 1943, she was married to Donald Dean Hendershot, who preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1987. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and five sisters. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
